Title: How to pay for an STI airport transfer — cash, transfer, tipping Locale: en Canonical HTML URL: https://stiairporttransfer.com/en/guides/how-to-pay-sti-transfer Updated: August 2026 Author: STI dispatch desk, Santiago de los Caballeros Operator: STI Airport Transfer — A&M Caribbean Group SRL # How to pay for an STI airport transfer Answer first · updated 2026 · written by the dispatch desk ## Direct answer There is no prepayment to hold a booking from Cibao International Airport (STI). You confirm the price on WhatsApp for one to six passengers, then pay the driver at the end of the ride — cash in US dollars or Dominican pesos, or bank transfer beforehand if you need an invoice for company travel. The quoted number already includes tolls, taxes and any waiting for a delayed flight, and round trips get 5% off the combined fare. Prices are one-way, per vehicle, taxes included, 1–6 passengers. 7–14 passengers move to a van: Standard +20 / VIP +40 on local zones. Private only — no shared seats, no night surcharge, no prepayment to hold. Rate list updated August 2026. ## Nothing is charged before you fly We quote the price in writing on WhatsApp once you send the flight number, destination and party size. No card is charged and no deposit is taken to hold the reservation. The reservation stands on the quote alone. If the flight moves, we re-track it and adjust the pickup time — the price you were given does not change because of a delay. ## Cash: US dollars or Dominican pesos Most guests pay the driver in cash at the end of the ride, in whichever currency is easier to carry: US dollars or Dominican pesos (DOP). Round numbers in dollars are simplest — a $25 Santiago transfer, a $85 run to Puerto Plata — and drivers carry small change for a $50 or $100 bill. If you pay in pesos, expect the driver to convert at a rate close to the day's bank rate, not the worse rate posted at airport currency counters. Ask for the figure before you hand over the cash if you want to check the math. ## Bank transfer and invoices If you need to pay before arrival, or if the trip is being expensed, we take a bank transfer and send a receipt in advance. This is the route most corporate bookings use for trips to Santiago's business district or the Cibao free zones. Ask for the invoice when you request the quote, not after the ride. We can itemise the fare, the vehicle class and the round-trip discount if it applies. ## Tipping Tipping is optional and never required. Drivers are paid a set wage for the run, and the quoted fare is the full price of the transfer — nothing is withheld from it that a tip is expected to cover. If a driver helped with heavy bags, a car seat, or waited well past a delayed landing without complaint, a few dollars is appreciated, but it is not built into the price. ## What the price already includes The number you are quoted is the whole cost of the trip: tolls on routes such as the Autopista Duarte or the Gregorio Luperón highway, all local taxes, and waiting time if your flight lands late. There is no separate toll receipt to keep and no surcharge added at the car for a plane that landed late, as long as we were given the flight number to track. The only additions we quote separately are a larger vehicle for seven to fourteen passengers (Standard plus $20, VIP plus $40 on local zones) and a second pickup stop, which is agreed before the trip, not added afterward. ## Round trips: 5% off the combined fare Book the arrival and the departure together for 5% off the combined fare. A Puerto Plata round trip runs $162 Standard instead of $170 for two one-way legs; a Santiago round trip runs $48 instead of $50. Prices are rounded to whole US dollars. The discount applies automatically when both legs are booked in the same message. You still pay however you prefer — cash at each end, or a single transfer covering both legs if you want one invoice for the whole trip. ## One-way rates by destination (round trip: 5% off the combined fare) | Zone | Drive time | Standard | VIP | | --- | --- | --- | --- | | Santiago de los Caballeros | 15–25 min | $25 | $59 | | Licey / Tamboril | 10–20 min | $25 | $59 | | La Vega | 30–45 min | $45 | $89 | | Jarabacoa | 60–80 min | $89 | $149 | | Puerto Plata / Playa Dorada | 60–80 min | $85 | $145 | | Sosúa | 75–95 min | $95 | $159 | | Cabarete | 85–105 min | $105 | $169 | | Santo Domingo (city or SDQ) | 2.25–2.75 h | $175 | $269 | Full price list: https://stiairporttransfer.com/en/prices Per vehicle, one-way, one to six passengers, taxes and tolls included. You confirm the price on WhatsApp and pay the driver at the end of the ride, or arrange a bank transfer if you need an invoice. ### Can I pay in Dominican pesos instead of US dollars? Yes. Drivers accept either. If you pay in pesos, the conversion is close to the bank rate for that day, not the weaker rate posted at airport currency counters. ### Is a tip expected? No. Tipping is optional and never required. The quoted fare is the full price of the transfer. ### Does the price include tolls and taxes? Yes. The number you are quoted already covers highway tolls, local taxes and waiting time for a tracked flight that lands late. ### Can I get an invoice for company travel? Yes. Ask when you request the quote and we send a bank transfer option with a receipt itemising the fare and vehicle class before the trip. ### How much do I save booking a round trip? 5% off the combined fare. A Santiago round trip is $48 Standard instead of $50 for two separate one-way bookings. ## Related pages - [Full price list](https://stiairporttransfer.com/en/prices) - [How pickup works](https://stiairporttransfer.com/en/how-it-works) - [FAQ](https://stiairporttransfer.com/en/faq) - [Uber at STI airport](https://stiairporttransfer.com/en/guides/uber-at-sti-airport) - [Taxi vs private transfer](https://stiairporttransfer.com/en/guides/taxi-vs-private-transfer) - [Shared shuttle vs private](https://stiairporttransfer.com/en/guides/shared-shuttle-vs-private) - [Transfer times by destination](https://stiairporttransfer.com/en/guides/transfer-times-from-sti) ## Contact WhatsApp +1 849 377 5889 · info@cana.tours · STI Airport Transfer (A&M Caribbean Group SRL), Santiago de los Caballeros, Dominican Republic.
