Why this run exists and who books it
STI serves the north and Cibao region, so this is the one page on our site that crosses the island to the opposite coast — most guests booking it are combining a stay near Santiago with a beach stint in Punta Cana, or landed at STI on a cheaper or more convenient flight and now need to reach a Bávaro resort or PUJ for a connection. The route runs south on the Autopista Duarte to Santo Domingo, then east on Autovía del Este past San Pedro de Macorís and La Romana, the same highway corridor used for airport-to-airport transfers on that side of the country. Given the distance, we plan the drive with a comfort stop built into the timing, and for guests continuing to a resort we confirm the hotel name in writing before the vehicle is assigned, since Bávaro, Cap Cana, Uvero Alto and the other Punta Cana zones each have their own gate procedures once you arrive on that side.
