Why guests fly into Santiago for Samaná
The Samaná peninsula has its own small airstrip, but most international flights serving it land at Santiago's Cibao International or at Las Américas near Santo Domingo. From STI the route runs the Autopista Duarte east toward La Vega and San Francisco de Macorís, then cuts north-east across the Nagua road to the Samaná bay. Las Terrenas is the destination most guests choose, on the northern side of the peninsula with its own beaches and a French-and-Italian-influenced village centre; Samaná town sits on the sheltered bay side, the departure point for the Cayo Levantado ferry and, in season, whale-watching boats; Las Galeras is the quieter fishing village at the very tip, another twenty minutes past Samaná town. All three sit on the same $235 Standard rate, along with hotels, apartments and villas on the roads between them, as long as the address is reachable by car. Send the property name on WhatsApp and we confirm the vehicle and the price in writing before you fly.
