Early flight from STI: last night on the coast or in Santiago?
Compare a direct North Coast pickup with a final night in Santiago before an early STI flight. Confirm hotel access, both journeys and your revised return booking.

Compare two complete departure plans
If your holiday ends in Puerto Plata, Playa Dorada, Sosúa or Cabarete, compare a direct pickup for Cibao International Airport (STI) with moving to Santiago the previous day. Neither option is automatically better: staying avoids a hotel change; moving adds another journey and accommodation handover.
Start with your operating airline’s local flight date, airport-arrival guidance and check-in, bag-drop and boarding deadlines. Flight departure, airport arrival and hotel pickup are different times. Ask dispatch for a fresh estimate from your exact property; the shortest published drive time is not the whole departure plan.
Keep the final night on the coast
Request a dated pickup from the actual hotel, condo or villa. Puerto Plata city, Playa Dorada, Sosúa and Cabarete are different origins. Send the entrance, passengers, every bag, child-seat requirements and mobility equipment; confirm the vehicle and early pickup are available.
Work out when everyone must get ready, finish packing, check out and reach that entrance. Ask the property about overnight checkout and gate access. Reception, assistance and breakfast are not assumed. A direct journey can avoid an unnecessary move, but still needs a confirmed airport-arrival margin.
Move to Santiago the day before
Specify two journeys: coastal property to the exact Santiago accommodation on the moving date, then that property to STI. A city hotel and an airport-area property are different addresses. Check the next morning’s road estimate before deciding that a hotel improves your plan; its name does not establish an included shuttle.
Compare written totals for both rides, the hotel night and any cost of changing the original reservation. Confirm check-in, room access and early checkout with the property. Do not assume luggage storage or overnight reception, or add airport-zone fares together to price a hotel change.
Replace the old return booking with one confirmed plan
Moving hotels does not automatically update a transfer. Send dispatch the old and new pickup addresses, local date, flight number, passengers and luggage. Obtain the revised route, pickup time, vehicle, total and change conditions in writing; do not assume an existing discount applies unchanged.
Save the hotel-change pickup and airport pickup as separate dated entries, with entrances, contacts and confirmations available offline. For a flight just after midnight, check whether pickup falls on the previous calendar day. Notify accommodation and dispatch separately if the flight changes. No overnight location guarantees a connection.
Must I stay in Santiago?
No. Compare a confirmed direct coastal pickup with the full arrangements and cost of moving the previous day.
Does changing hotels update my return transfer?
No. Obtain a revised pickup and written total from dispatch.
Can I add airport fares to price the hotel change?
No. Request the actual property-to-property route and the separate STI pickup.
