Confirm the rafting booking and actual meeting point

For rafting on the Yaque del Norte near Jarabacoa, first obtain your operator’s reporting address and deadline. A lodge reception, the rafting base and a river access point are not interchangeable. Give dispatch the confirmed location, entrance instructions and operator contact, rather than a generic river pin.

A hotel reservation at Rancho Baiguate does not by itself confirm a rafting departure there. Check the activity voucher separately, even if you are staying with an excursion provider. Rafting, tubing and visits to the Jimenoa or Baiguate waterfalls are different bookings and destinations.

Check which journeys the activity already includes

Ask whether the activity includes hotel collection or a shuttle between the operator’s base and the river. Confirm where that service starts and finishes before booking another vehicle. Do not assume the road driver should follow the rafts or collect you from the riverbank.

Request a written quote for the actual start address, reporting point, return and any waiting. An STI-to-Jarabacoa airport fare does not automatically price a Santiago hotel outing, the activity or a waiting vehicle. Confirm transport availability and inclusions.

Choose a Santiago departure or assess an STI arrival

From a Santiago hotel, plan backwards from the operator’s reporting deadline using a road estimate for that address and date, with a separate reserve. A Jarabacoa town estimate is not a confirmed arrival time at every rafting base.

After landing at STI, add leaving the aircraft, entry formalities, bags, customs and meeting your driver before the road journey. Flight tracking does not hold the rafting group. If the plan relies on every stage being quick, compare reaching accommodation first and rafting another day.

Arrange bags, dry clothes and participation requirements

Before arranging the car, confirm the operator’s current age, swimming and other participation requirements for your group. Do not use a general destination guide as approval for a child or participant. Ask about arrangements for companions who are not rafting and their return location.

Ask what footwear, towel and dry clothing to bring, and whether changing facilities and bag storage are available. Agree who accepts suitcases and valuables; a parked vehicle is not automatically supervised storage. Declare every passenger, suitcase and bulky item when requesting the road vehicle.

Declare your group and all luggage

Agree where the road pickup begins after rafting

Obtain the place where the operator hands you back after the complete activity, including any internal shuttle. The time spent on the river is not the total visit: reporting, preparation, changing and regrouping also affect collection. Ask when the group can actually be ready for the car.

Choose explicitly between agreed vehicle waiting and a separately confirmed later pickup. Set a reachable meeting point, collection window, contact procedure and any waiting charges. Bring a bag for wet belongings and confirm their carriage. A one-way drop-off does not reserve the same driver for the afternoon.

Update the activity and onward journey separately

Ask how river conditions or other operational changes are communicated and what the activity’s change terms allow. Confirm the road provider’s terms independently. A postponed rafting trip does not automatically cancel the vehicle or change its price; notify both providers and keep the revised confirmations offline.

For a different hotel afterwards, confirm that final address and any stop to collect bags. For an STI flight, include the complete activity return, changing, luggage collection, road travel and your airline’s airport deadlines. Choose another activity day if a changed finish would leave no workable flight plan.
