Because Licey and Tamboril are the closest towns to STI, 1.5 to 2 hours before your flight is normally enough. The airport is small and quick to clear, so the extra time is really about check-in and security rather than the road, which rarely takes more than 20 minutes even with a stop at a light. If you are flying at the airport's busiest morning bank or travelling with a large group, we would still suggest the top end of that range.
